The 2023 Mercedez-Benz GLB vs. GLC debate is ongoing. Both models offer incredible performance and luxury, but there are a few slight differences that might make a difference for drivers in Beckley or Bridgeport. Check out the differences here, then head to Mercedes-Benz of Charleston in Charleston to take your favorite for a spin. For more information, feel free to contact us anytime!
One of the major differences between these two Mercedes models is the dimensions. The GLC is perfect for seating up to five, and its longer wheelbase ensures plenty of room to stretch. The GLB comes with an optional third row for seating up to seven people, which makes it ideal for larger families or those who want the extra space. The optional third row does move out of the way if you need some extra cargo space for long trips, groceries, or equipment. You’ll get 62 cubic feet of cargo room in the GLB compared to just 56.5 in the GLC. Let’s check out the dimensions in more detail below:
Both models feature the same 2.0L four-cylinder engine, but because the GLB is slightly heavier, there’s a little less pep in the acceleration. Most drivers aren’t likely to feel or notice the difference between the GLB’s 221 horsepower and the GLC’s 255 horsepower. The GLB gets slightly better mileage at 24 in the city and 32 in the highway compared to the GLC’s 22 and 27, respectively. The GLB is also easier to drive and handle in tight areas, so if you tend to do most of your driving (and parking) in the city, it may be the better option.
The GLC is the larger of the two vehicles, and the MSRP is about $7,000 higher than the GLB. That could make a difference in your budget, or if you aren’t concerned about the larger space and optional third row, that $7,000 could be put toward some extra bells and whistles.
Both the GLB and the GLC offer incredible features and driving, but they are two different cars made for different types of people. If you aren’t sure which is right for you, visit Mercedes-Benz of Charleston in Charleston to take them both for a drive.
