2019 Summer Events in Charleston

Summer is here and things are heating up in Charleston! Whether you’re a local looking for some fun in the sun, or a visitor looking to spice up your trip, there are plenty of summer events in Charleston to choose from. We’ve highlighted a few of our favorites below.

Vintage Flea Market

Do you love the thrill of the hunt? The Vintage Flea Market offers shoppers a fun time exploring antique, vintage, and vintage-inspired collectibles and furniture. Spend the day searching for a hidden treasure, and enjoy unique sites along the way. If you’re lucky, you may also win one of the prize giveaways found at the flea market!

When & Where: The flea market is held July 20 at City Center East in Charleston.

Dogfest

Trying to find summer activities in Charleston that you can enjoy with your four-legged friend? Dogfest is a special dog block party where you and your furry family member can spend the day bonding. Enjoy music, dog pools, dog contests, dog toys, and treats for humans and dogs alike. Looking for a new pooch? There will be rescue groups and humane societies on site.

When & Where: Dogs and their owners will be overtaking Capitol Street on August 10.

SummerFest

If you’re looking for family-friendly Charleston festivals this summer, SummerFest delivers fun everyone can enjoy. Enjoy a variety of live music throughout the festival, and even test out your dancing skills with the festival’s own version of “Dancing With the Stars.” Take the kids for free cotton candy, face painting, and bounce houses, or join the other auto enthusiasts at the open car show. End the festival with a bang by taking in the fireworks display.

When & Where: Held August 14-17 near the Mound in Charleston; this is a free event for all to enjoy!
